Online Classes

If you’re looking to take an individual class to keep up or get ahead at another school, we offer a wide variety of classes that you can take online without being enrolled in a specific program of study. Below is a select list of Engineering classes. To see a full listing of our online classes, visit the class schedule, choose the term (example: Fall 2021), select “online” under Instruction Mode, then search.

  • EGR 126 – Computer Programming for Engineers
  • EGR 140 – Engineering Mechanics – Statics
  • EGR 245 – Engineering Mechanics – Dynamics
  • EGR 246 – Mechanics of Materials
  • EGR 251 – Basic Electric Circuits 1

Haven’t found what you’re looking for?

If you need a class that’s not on the class schedule for this semester, ask your Program Advisor about taking an SSDL class. Shared Services Distance Learning (SSDL) courses allow Virginia Western students to earn credit while taking an online course taught by an instructor from another Virginia Community College, while using testing centers near them to complete any required proctored assignments. This allows Virginia Western students to take advantage of a variety of specialized courses that may not be offered on campus, or help students meet course requirements to complete a degree or certificate in a more timely manner.
