Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) Cares Act Required Reporting

  • HEERF I: Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act
  • HEERF II: Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriation Act (CRRSAA)

The following is Virginia Western Community College’s (VWCC) required reporting of federal government enacted legislation resulting from the disruption of the coronavirus pandemic.  The legislation provides various awards for student emergency direct aid and institutional grants.   VWCC was allocated approximately $9,608,218 as follows:

HEERF I – CARES

  • Approximately $1,381,649 for Emergency Direct Aid Grants to Students.
  • Approximately $1,381,648 for Emergency Institutional Grants.
  • Approximately $137,391 for Emergency Strengthen Institutions Program (SIP) Grants.

HEERF II – CRRSAA

  • Approximately $1,381,649 for Emergency Direct Aid Grants to Students.
  • Approximately $5,055,788 for Emergency Institutional Grants.
  • Approximately $270,093 for Emergency Strengthen Institutions Program (SIP) Grants.
