Virginia Western Online

Online programs may provide the flexibility to fit education into a busy schedule. Online students have access to the same support services as students attending classes on Virginia Western’s campus.

Fast-Track Programs

Fast-track programs offer credit and non-credit courses for business and industry training, retraining and certifications, as well as courses for community and personal enrichment.

Building Trades Technology

These programs are designed to provide students with the basic skills necessary to obtain entry level positions in fields such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, and general construction fields. Fast-track and evening opportunities available.

Business & Professional Services

Pursue careers in accounting, administrative support, business management, financial services, office management, health information management, marketing, and paralegal studies.

Culinary Arts

These programs prepare our graduates to enter the workforce at differing levels in the following positions: baker, line cook, pantry cook, pastry cook, sous chef. With work experience, students can become head cooks and chefs.

Engineering, Mathematics, Mechatronics & Manufacturing

Math or Engineering transfer students choose from traditional math or engineering paths, with possible specializations. Two-year technicians may choose Mechatronics Systems. Career Studies Certificates are also available.

Health Professions

Programs for those wishing to pursue careers in the fields of Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Radiation Oncology, Medical Lab Tech, and Radiography. This focus area also offers Career Studies Certificates for LPN, CT & MRI Tech, and Phlebotomy.

Information Technology

These programs are for students looking to enter the fields of: information cyber security, networking, software design, data collection and manipulation, web applications, and mobile computing.

Liberal Arts & Social Science

These programs are designed for students wanting to transfer to a four-year program, including social science students and future teachers.

Public Service

These programs will prepare students for careers in areas such as early childhood education, human services, and criminal justice.


Science transfer students may choose from widely accepted courses in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, and Astronomy. Students may specialize in Health Science, Integrated Environmental Science or Computer Science or choose a Career Studies Certificate. 

Transportation & Logistics

This area is primarily for students seeking to obtain their Class A CDL for entry into the trucking industry. Also offered is the Motorcycle Safety Course.

Visual Design

These programs are designed to prepare students for employment in visual communication fields such as graphic design, advertising, web design, and multimedia design.

Personal Enrichment & Community

Various non-credit courses for personal enrichment.
