Monthly group rock climb together. Free!
Outdoor Recreation
Sign up at the Fitness Center or email cheddleston@virginiawestern.edu for more info. Trip costs should be paid to the Cashier’s Office (cash only).
Fall Hiking: Appalachian Trail – Triple Crown+ Series
Complete the Triple Crown and earn a prize! Complete the Triple Crown + Hay Rock (another hike on the AT that connects with the Triple Crown) and earn a bigger prize!
Depart from the Fitness Center at 1:00 PM.
Wednesday, Sept 16: Dragon’s Tooth (4.5 miles; moderate+)
Wednesday, Sept 30: McAfee Knob (7.5 miles; moderate)
Wednesday, Oct 14: Hay Rock (8 miles; moderate+)
Wednesday, Oct 28: Tinker Cliffs (8 miles; strenuous)
Night Zip Lining at Explore Park ($10 discounted admission)
Saturday, October 24: meets at Explore Park Visitor Center at 6:30 PM
2 hours of ziplining and obstacles in the treetops! Night ziplining adds an extra element of fun! Students responsible for their own transportaion to Explore Park.
Luray Caverns Trip ($10)
Friday, November 6: leaves campus at 10:00 PM; Return approx. 8:00 PM
Walk through the largest cavern system in the Eastern US and see stunning underground rock formations. Includes transportation in college vans, admission, and lunch.

Fitness Center (1st Floor): 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday – Friday. Closed Saturday – Sunday.
Student Activities & Food Pantry (3rd Floor): 9 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday – Friday.
