The Fitness Center offers a variety of fitness classes and wellness programs throughout the semester to help keep the Virginia Western community healthy and active!
Group Fitness
The Fitness Center offers a variety of FREE group fitness classes led by certified fitness instructors. Class schedules are subject to change, so be sure to check the calendar! Love group fitness but can’t make any of our scheduled classes? Virtual video-led classes are also available in the Fitness Center studio, just ask at the front desk!
You don’t have to sign up for group fitness classes, just drop in and exercise!

Wellness Workshops & Nutrition Information
Join us at the Fitness Center for free monthly educational workshops with topics on health, nutrition, fitness & more! A Registered Dietitian is available Tuesdays and Wednesdays to provide information on healthy lifestyles and answer nutrition questions. Check the Campus Events calendar for more information!
Special Programs
Outdoor Adventures
Nothing is better than being in the great outdoors. The Fitness Center sponsors local outdoor adventures like Outdoor Yoga, Foliage Hikes, Apple Picking and Kayaking. Check out the Campus Events calendar for more information!
Student Health & Health Insurance
Virginia Western does not have a clinic on campus; however, emergency medical services, clinics and hospitals are located nearby. If you need first aid on campus, please contact Campus Police at 540-857-7979.
If you need additional assistance with finding Health Insurance, you can contact Enroll Virginia!, an organization that offers one-on-one assistance to educate Virginians about the Marketplace and provide application assistance to small businesses and individuals who need their help. Health Insurance Marketplace (healthcare.gov)
No matter where you live, you may be able to buy insurance from private health plans that cover a comprehensive set of benefits, including doctor visits, hospital stays, preventative care, and prescriptions. Plans in the Marketplace must treat you fairly – they can’t deny you coverage because of a pre-existing condition. You can also find out if you or anyone on your application qualify for Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program, or can get financial help to use right away to lower your health insurance premiums.

Student Activities & Food Pantry (3rd Floor): 9 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday – Friday.
