The general qualifications for this position include the ability to work in an office setting greeting students, faculty, and staff, answering questions about the program in person and over the phone, and following written and verbal instructions.
Work Schedule Range
Note: Regardless of work schedule below, students may never work during their scheduled classtimes.

Purpose or Role of the Position within the Organization:
To provide front office support to TRIO Student Support Services program.
Duties/Responsibilities of the position and how they relate to the purpose or role
Under the guidance of the TRIO Office Manager and administrative staff, The Office Assistant will perform the following support tasks:
- Assist in daily tasks, including but not limited to typing and distributing information, answering the phone and directing calls, placing calls, filing, copying, and data entry.
- Make student appointments, create new student files.
- Create flyers, post flyers around campus.
- Assist with department events; assist in creating handouts for orientation, flyers and invitations for campus events such as TRIO Success Academy, resource workshops, welcome week and graduation, as necessary.
- Support staff during outreach events by creating flyers, sign-in forms and speaking to students about the TRIO Program.
- Attend and contribute to check-in meetings.
- Participate in orientation, training, professional development workshops, and other meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the TRIO administrative staff.
