It is the policy of Virginia Western Community College to abide by all of the requirements of AWS QC47:20216, Specifications of AWS Certification of Welders and Accreditation of Test Facilities, when the Training Facility at the Greenfield Education Center is operated as an Accredited Test Facility.
The Trades Lab Manager will serve as the Facility Representative and the Quality Assurance Manager. The Trades Lab Manager reports directly to the Dean of the School of Business, Technology and Trades.
A full-time faculty member holding a current CWI will serve as the AWS Qualifier and the AWS Technical Manager. This faculty member reports directly to the Dean of the School of Business, Technology and Trades.
Should any conflicts develop that cannot be resolved by the Quality Assurance Manager and the conflicting parties, the problem will be referred to the Dean of the School of Business, Technology and Trades for resolution. The Dean will make a determination with regard to the issue in accordance with the policy listed above.
