Please follow these guidelines to facilitate student testing in the Testing Center. If you have questions, email us at testingcenter@virginiawestern.edu.
- Thoroughly complete a Testing Information Sheet for all tests, at least 1 business day before the test is scheduled to begin. Attach a course roster to the completed information sheet or send all students’ names as part of the form.
- Provide a cell phone number on the information sheet, in case we need to contact you about a problem with your test.
- Double-check online test settings to ensure the test is configured correctly to be given in a proctored environment. Contact the OLIT team and consult our online guides for assistance with Canvas and Respondus settings.
- Any paper tests should be clearly labeled with the instructor’s last name, course number, term, and chapters or units being tested. Provide enough copies of the test for all students.
- Remind students to bring a photo ID and the device they use for multi-factor authentication when they come to take the test. No appointments are required, except for students with accommodations through the Office of Disability Services.
- The Testing Center will make every attempt to ensure a secure environment. Any inconsistencies will be reported to the instructor.
