Balancing the demands of raising a family while pursuing a degree or credential is a significant achievement. The College Attainment for Parent Students program is a dedicated initiative designed to help you bridge the gap between your family responsibilities and your academic goals.
By providing both financial assistance and coordinated support services, we work to remove the obstacles that stand in the way of your success.
Childcare Assistance
We recognize that the cost of quality childcare is one of the primary reasons student parents may struggle to stay in school. To help you attend classes consistently and remain engaged in your studies, our program offers funding specifically to help offset childcare expenses. Funding is limited.
To qualify for childcare assistance, you must meet the following criteria:
- be a resident of Virginia
- be a student parent with a documented childcare need
- be Pell Grant or FANTIC eligible
- be enrolled in at least 6 credits or a qualifying workforce program
- maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
