Heavy Equipment Operator
Get in the driver’s seat and build your future as an in-demand heavy equipment operator! Experience what it’s like to operate a bulldozer, excavator, or other types of heavy construction equipment in our high-tech Caterpillar Simulators and earn the Heavy Equipment Operator Level 1 credential from NCCER. The Heavy Equipment Operator Level 1 class was developed to help students gain the skills to enter this field and meet the growing employment demands for equipment operators. Students will learn the following content in a self-paced, web-based learning system. At specified periods during the training, students attend scheduled sessions at a simulator training lab, to perform simulator exercises for equipment basic controls, loading and unloading, excavating, and trenching along with many more types of scenarios. Students receive hands-on training in the lab with state of the art simulators that replicate real-life operating scenarios through rotation-motion platforms and high-resolution 3-D displays for heavy construction equipment.
