Virginia Western’s computer systems are governed by VWCC guidelines, VCCS guidelines and Commonwealth of Virginia policy
These data security and storage guidelines provide configuration, proper use and security requirements to users of Virginia Western’s information systems data storage in alignment with Commonwealth of Virginia, the Virginia Community College System and Virginia Western requirements and practices. Management of overall compliance and standards of operation are the responsibility of the Information and Educational Technologies department.
Understanding and compliance with these requirements is necessary to ensure proper data management practices. As a user of resources governed by this standard, your stewardship is a key element of our compliance efforts. College systems are subject to APA and VCCS audits to ensure compliance.
