The right moment can change everything.
Every day, Virginia Western employees help students take the next step toward a brighter future. Whether you’re teaching in the classroom, answering questions, maintaining our campus, or supporting students behind the scenes, you help make success possible.
Through the 2026-2027 Perfect Timing Employee Giving Campaign, you can extend that impact even further. Your gift helps ensure students receive support exactly when they need it most. Whether you choose to support CCAP, the Student Emergency Fund, the Virginia Western Student Co-op, fueled by Kroger, scholarships, or another area that is meaningful to you, your generosity helps remove barriers and create opportunities for our students.
This year, we’re celebrating the Virginia Western experience with prizes that highlight the places and experiences that make our campus and community special. Employees who make a gift of $10 or more will automatically be entered into our weekly prize drawings throughout the campaign. One qualifying gift keeps you in the drawing for the remainder of the campaign.
Weekly prizes include local favorites like Blue Cow Ice Cream, Deb’s Lemonade, Grandin Theatre, Mill Mountain Theatre, Seasons & Occasions, reserved campus parking, and Virginia Western Community Arboretum plant vouchers. If we surpass our goal of 60 employee donors, everyone who has made a qualifying gift will also be entered to win a special Lunch with Leadership with President Laura Treanor and the VP of their choice.
Every gift, no matter the size, helps students stay enrolled, overcome unexpected challenges, and continue building their futures.
And don’t forget to check whether your spouse’s employer offers a matching gift program. You may be able to double or even triple the impact of your generosity.
Now is the perfect time to make a difference.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happened to giving through payroll deduction?
Due to platform changes at the state level, we no longer offer payroll deduction gifts. For best stewardship of your gift we recommend using another method, such as credit card, check, or DAF. It’s easy to arrange for a secure recurring gift with a credit or debit card to suit your budget and schedule.
How much should I give?
Many of us support several worthy causes. If Virginia Western is among them, we’re honored. Even a gift of $10 qualifies you for our prize drawings — and every dollar helps students succeed.
How can I donate?
The easiest way to give is by credit or debit card online. You can also increase your impact with a monthly recurring gift. Just imagine what $10 a month could do for our students.
Why should I give?
The Perfect Timing Employee Giving Campaign strengthens the programs that help students succeed when they need support most. Whether it’s CCAP, the Student Emergency Fund, the Virginia Western Student Co-op, fueled by Kroger, scholarships, or another area you care about, your gift helps remove barriers and keep students moving toward their goals. Just as importantly, your participation demonstrates to alumni, businesses, foundations, and other donors that Virginia Western employees believe in our students and invest in the College’s mission.
Where is my contribution going?
You choose where your support goes. Some of our most popular giving areas include:
- CCAP (Community College Access Program): Providing tuition-free college to students throughout our region.
- Virginia Western Annual Fund: Flexible funding to meet our greatest needs.
- The Student Food Co-Op, fueled by Kroger: A fully stocked pantry connecting students to food and other essential resources.
- Student Emergency Fund: Helping students navigate crises like homelessness, illness, or transportation issues.
- Any scholarship or program fund of your choice — including those connected to your own department. View all options here.
Will people know that I gave and the amount I contributed?
Your name will appear in our annual IMPACT! magazine and on a recognition poster outside Whitman Theatre. If you’d prefer to remain anonymous, you can make that selection when giving.
Is my contribution tax deductible?
Yes.
Can I include the Foundation in my estate plans?
Absolutely. Planned gifts help ensure the future of Virginia Western and can allow you to make a larger impact than you thought possible. Learn more about planned giving.
