Reports to: Vice President of Student Affairs (FA099)
The Director of Enrollment Services serves as a senior leader within Student Affairs, providing bold and strategic leadership for the college’s enrollment operations across recruitment, onboarding, new student advising, and enrollment systems. The Director champions a student-centered, access-driven approach that removes barriers and fosters inclusive pathways from interest to enrollment. Working in close partnership with the Vice President of Student Affairs, this role leads the development and execution of the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan and ensures effective coordination of credit and workforce enrollment through a unified “One Door” model.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Enrollment Planning & Leadership (30%)
- Leads the design, implementation, and assessment of the college’s Strategic Enrollment Management Plan, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, workforce needs, and access initiatives.
- Develops and monitors weekly enrollment goal reports and dashboards in consultation with the Vice President of Student Affairs; provides actionable insights to guide campus-wide decision-making.
- Utilizes enrollment and retention data to assess the effectiveness of recruitment and onboarding strategies, making timely and data-informed adjustments.
- Directs the integration of credit and workforce enrollment pathways under a cohesive Workforce One Door model.
- Represents the college in statewide and system-wide strategic enrollment initiatives, including leadership of pilot programs and innovation efforts (e.g., VCCS SEM Pilot).
Operations Management & Cross-Departmental Coordination (20%)
- Provides strategic coordination of enrollment-related services with key institutional offices including Academics, Financial Aid, Business Services, Retention, Workforce and IT.
- Oversees all operational aspects of the enrollment cancellation process, including scheduling, communications, financial notifications, and collaboration with impacted departments.
- Provides leadership and accountability for the denial of admissions process, ensuring adherence to policy, transparency, and timely resolution.
- Chairs the bi-weekly Enrollment Huddle to align efforts, remove process barriers, and advance enrollment priorities across divisions.
- Drives consistency, compliance, and innovation in the use of enrollment management technologies and communication workflows.
Recruitment & Outreach Oversight (15%)
- Directs the development and execution of targeted recruitment and community outreach strategies designed to expand access, increase yield, and support underserved populations.
- Guides the design of multi-modal communication campaigns (email, SMS, Navigate, Salesforce journeys) in collaboration with Marketing and other college stakeholders.
- Ensures robust engagement with key populations including high school students, adult learners, military-affiliated students, ESL/GED participants, and workforce trainees.
- Oversees the planning and execution of on-campus and off-site recruitment events aligned with peak enrollment cycles.
Technology & Systems Management (15%)
- Provides strategic leadership for the administration and optimization of key systems including Salesforce, EAB Navigate (serving as backup administrator), Anthology, Mitek, and XAP.
- Oversees CRM governance and user training, ensuring data integrity, effective inquiry management, and student tracking.
- Leads proactive fraud monitoring and resolution, including oversight of ID verification processes and suspicious application review.
- Ensures all enrollment systems are aligned to support a seamless, integrated onboarding experience for both credit and workforce students.
Personnel & Budget Management (10%)
- Directly supervises full-time and part-time personnel across Recruitment, Onboarding, Advising, and Enrollment Center teams, fostering a culture of high performance and student service.
- Oversees staff training, professional development, evaluation, and operational planning.
- Manages and monitors budgets for Recruitment, Enrollment Center, and Student Advising Center, ensuring strategic use of resources in collaboration with the Vice President of Student Affairs.
Other Duties as Assigned (10%)
- Provides high-level project management and cross-functional leadership on institutional priorities assigned by the Vice President of Student Affairs.
- Serves on college and system-level committees and task forces related to enrollment, technology, student access, and policy implementation.
