Entrepreneurial Mindset: Gig-Economy Edition
This course will enable you to "bootstrap" your way into a successful business rather than undertaking significant financial risk. You’ll learn to identify problems, find solutions and make customer connections. It's ideal for anyone seeking to:
- Transition from employee to independent worker
- Explore entrepreneurship as a pre-retirement transition
- Earn extra money while maintaining your current job
- Transition from Unemployed to self-employed
- Use your skills, talents and interests to discover your entrepreneurial path
Class dates: June 4 - July 30 (no class on July 2nd)
Class times: 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Cost: FREE for area residents and businesses who apply by May 1, 2019, and who are accepted into the course through an application process.

High Potential Startups: Looking to accelerate your success?
RAMP (Regional Acceleration and Mentoring Program) is a partnership of Virginia Western Community College, the City of Roanoke and the Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council. Its mission is to propel high-potential startups to expand and create jobs in the STEM-H (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Health) fields.
RAMP operates from the Gill Memorial Building, 709 S. Jefferson St. in downtown Roanoke's Innovation Corridor.
Virginia Western offers classes at RAMP that are open to the public.

Student Startups: Need FREE office or meeting space?
What is the regional innovation partnership?
CoLab offers a 6-month membership to select students in the area to provide a safe, resource-rich space for ideation and entrepreneurship. Over the 6-month period, the student will have access to CoLab and all amenities. In exchange, CoLab will ask for monthly status reports from the student and for the completion of a startup check list provided by CoLab.
