On November 16, the Blue Stars Men’s Basketball team recorded their first win of the season beating the Virginia Highlands Community College Wolves 76-64. Freshman Damien Harris led all scorers with 22 points. Virginia Western’s frontcourt of Sophomore Center Steven Richie and Forward Tyler Eckenroth utilized their size in the post scoring 12 and 13 respectively. Blue Star point guards Darrius Cunningham and Jaylen Board pressured the Virginia Highland offense all game while combining for 17 points and causing 8 turnovers. The win marks new Head Coach Ray Bare’s first collegiate victory. Virginia Western’s next game is at home against New River Community College on Friday November 30 at 7:00 PM.
