• Classroom Tech: If you want to learn more about the technology used in our classrooms visit the Media Geeks website: https://www.virginiawestern.edu/media-geeks/classroom-tech/. If you have trouble with any classroom equipment please notify the Help Desk.

• Virtual Desktops: You can access your virtual desktop from home by following the setup instructions on our website: https://www.virginiawestern.edu/iet-services/services/desktop-support-virtual-desktops-backups-storage/virtual-desktops/how-to-access-your-virtual-desktop-from-off-campus/. This will give you access to your network drives and software you use when on campus.

• Zoom: All office workstations on campus have webcams and will support Zoom calls. If you are experiencing poor audio or video quality, make sure you are connecting on your thin client, have turned off any generated backgrounds, and have tried disabling your self-view option. • VWCCWiFi: You can either join the VWCCHowToConnect network, which will give you step-by-step details for WiFi, or follow the directions on the website: https://apps.virginiawestern.edu/wireless/.

• Canvas: If you need assistance with Canvas, Panopto, Respondus, or Zoom, please visit the Online Learning and Instructional Technology website: https://www.virginiawestern.edu/olit/faculty-support/.

• VWConnect: This is the Virginia Western faculty/staff Intranet site and you will find a shortcut to it on your Desktop. You will be able to find information specific to each department here and important links, such as the ticketing system for FMS, Campus Move forms, and SARFs for security requests/changes for employees. This site can only be accessed from on campus or via your virtual: https://virginiawestern.sharepoint.com/sites/VWConnect/.

• Software: All faculty/staff have access to Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as long as you are employed with VCCS. To install these programs at home you can view the directions on the website: https://www.virginiawestern.edu/iet-services/student-tutorials-training/microsoft-office-365-proplus-for-students/.  You will also have access to Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, etc.), if requested from the Help Desk.
