Monday, November 2, 1:30 – 2:30 pm | Empowering Faculty and Staff with AI: VCCS-Approved Tools and Best Practices
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming education, offering innovative ways to enhance teaching, streamline workflows, and improve student engagement. This session introduces faculty and staff to VCCS-approved AI tools—including Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, NotebookLM, and Google AI Studio—and explores how these platforms can support instructional design, research, and administrative tasks.
Participants will gain practical insights into the capabilities of each tool, learn strategies for integrating AI into their teaching practices, and review ethical and pedagogical best practices to ensure responsible and effective use. By the end of the session, attendees will be equipped with actionable ideas to leverage AI while maintaining academic integrity and fostering student success.

AI for Higher Education Staff supports higher education professionals in developing a practical and adaptable approach to working with AI. Through asynchronous guided exploration and live discussions, participants build confidence experimenting with AI tools while maintaining human oversight as technologies and expectations continue to evolve.
The 2-week online program includes 5 modules and takes a minimum of 5–6 hours to complete. Participants will have access to the program for 1 year.
