Professional Development Reporting Update

Help Virginia Western Showcase Our Commitment to Student Success

Thank you for your continued dedication to professional growth and for supporting the goals of Accelerate Opportunity and our One-System priorities.

Earlier this year, you (or your department designee) submitted professional development activities completed through April 30. We are now collecting any additional professional development activities completed between May 1 and June 30 that have not yet been reported.

Your submissions help demonstrate Virginia Western’s investment in employee development and our commitment to improving student success across the College.

Why Your Submission Matters

The Virginia Community College System is tracking progress toward the following Accelerate Opportunity goals:

Goal 3.1

Increase the number of full-time faculty engaged in professional development opportunities that broaden understanding of relevant emerging topics for student success by 50% by 2030.

Goal 4.3

Ensure all front-line support staff participate in at least one professional development opportunity focused on financial resources so they can accurately respond to student inquiries by 2030.

Who Should Submit?

Please complete the form if you or your department participated in any professional development between May 1 and June 30 that has not already been reported.

Examples include:

  • Conferences and institutes
  • Workshops and seminars
  • Webinars
  • Certifications or credentialing
  • Professional organization meetings
  • Training related to teaching, learning, student success, AI, accessibility, workforce development, leadership, financial aid, advising, or other job-related topics
