Do you write poetry or create art? If so, please consider entering the competitions for Virginia Western Poet Laureate and Visual Art Luminary Award. Virginia Western college level winners will receive prizes (1st: $200 2nd: $100 3rd: $50 – Provided on a Gift Card)

This year’s contest theme is “I Dream”.

To Enter:
By using your VCCS Google account, you can access the application  Visual Art Luminary & Poet Laureate – Application.  The form will ask you to submit your poems (3 poems required) or a photo of your artwork.

The deadline for submitting work is February 9. Winners will be selected by February 20.

Winners of this competition will go on to participate in the VCCS state-wide poetry and visual arts event on March 27 and 28.

This year’s event is held on Virginia Western’s campus in Whitman Theater.The poetry competition will include a live performance/reading and a VCCS state poet laureate will be named!
