New Digital Accessibility Resources
Accessibility work is student success work. It’s also employee support work. It’s also, yes, compliance work. All three can be true at once, like a weird trifecta.
Please take a few minutes this week to visit and bookmark these two sites:
1) VWCC Digital Accessibility (DA) Project
This is VWCC’s home base for practical guidance, tools, and support contacts to help make our digital content usable for everyone–Canvas materials, documents, videos, webpages, forms, and more.
2) VCCS Accessibility Website (New)
This site brings together system-level training, resources, and clear direction aligned with WCAG 2.1 AA expectations and the approaching federal deadlines.
Why building in digital accessibility matters:
- Students get what they need without delays or extra hurdles
- Faculty and staff spend less time on last-minute fixes
- Our materials work better for everyone (accessibility improvements often help all users)
Thanks for doing your part to make Virginia Western’s digital spaces welcoming, usable, and genuinely inclusive.
