Dear Campus Community,

Commencement 2025 was a truly special moment for Virginia Western, and it was made possible by all of you!

To our graduates your hard work, resilience, and determination were on full display as you crossed the stage. You’ve reached an incredible milestone, and we are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished.

Our student speakers and Dr. Robert Sandel delivered messages full of insight and inspiration. Dr. Sandel’s keynote, in his final Commencement as President, was a moving tribute to his decades of leadership and unwavering dedication to student success. We were also honored to have VCCS Chancellor Dr. David Doré join us in celebrating this important occasion.

The excitement leading up to Commencement was sparked by events like the Commencement Countdown Rehearsal, where students had the chance to connect with each other, faculty, and staff; dance; win prizes; join the Alumni Association; complete important surveys; and celebrate together. It set a joyful, community-driven tone that carried through the entire ceremony.
