In 2024-2025, the VCCS AI Taskforce established the following strategic vision:

As a transformative leader in education and workforce development, the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) will embrace the ethical use of AI to reduce barriers and enhance student learning, build collaborative industry partnerships, and increase operational efficiency to empower our students with the knowledge and skills relevant to their futures.

The work of the AI Taskforce culminated in the creation of the VCCS AI Strategic Plan, designed to turn this vision into action. To help guide implementation and ensure a broad range of perspectives across the system, five AI Communities of Practice (CoP) have been established.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to join one or more of these communities and contribute their voice to shaping how VCCS embraces and responds to this rapidly evolving and transformative technology.
