Beginning this year, students who apply for graduation in SIS will also be required to complete a second step to participate in the commencement ceremony. After submitting their graduation application, students will receive an email with instructions to register for the ceremony in the Tassel portal.

Please help us reinforce this new requirement when speaking with graduating students. Completing the Tassel registration is mandatory for ceremony participation and ensures accurate name pronunciation, program information, and inclusion in ceremony materials.

Additionally, please note that beginning with the 2026 ceremony, graduates will wear navy blue caps and gowns instead of the black gowns used in previous years. Students who have a black gown from a prior ceremony will need to purchase a new navy gown from the bookstore for this year’s event.
