Sign up now!  VWCC will sponsor service opportunities for the Day of Service on Friday, January 16th.  Since this is happening on Friday instead of the Monday school is closed, faculty and staff are encouraged to discuss participation with their supervisors prior to registering.

Service opportunities to choose from:

1. The American Red Cross will hold a Blood Drive in the Student Life Center on Wednesday, January 21st. 
2. Feeding Southwest Virginia’s Salem Food Bank (Two shifts: 9am-12pm and/or 1pm-4pm). Volunteers will be working in Quality Assurance (QA) to evaluate donated food products by inspecting and sorting packaged food products to control for such issues as shelf life (dates), dented cans, crushed boxes, or other superficially damaged food.
3. Rescue Mission “Sock-a-Thon.” Please bring in new pairs of socks through January 16th, 2026. Please bring any donations to the Institutional Effectiveness Office (Fishburn 110).
