New Student Conduct Policy – Two Opportunities to Learn More

Earlier this Fall we shared at in-service about the new, VCCS-wide Policy on Student Conduct that we adopted here at Virginia Western this summer. There are two great upcoming opportunities to learn more about the new policy and some best practices. We invite you join us for either of these sessions to learn more!

VCCS Informational Webinar – This Thursday via Zoom

This Thursday, September 25 from 3pm to 4pm, Dr. Heather Sorrell, Interim Assistant Chancellor for Student Experience and Strategic Initiatives will host an informational webinar about the new Student Conduct Policy. This session is primarily intended for faculty and staff who have not attended past informational sessions. You can use this link to join the Zoom meeting at 3pm on Thursday.

If you can’t join on Thursday, a recording of a prior informational webinar & overview can be found here: https://www.vccs.edu/blog/single-code-of-student-conduct-established-for-all-vccs-colleges/

On Campus Lunch and Learn – Wednesday, October 8th at Noon

Wednesday, October 8th, at noon we will be hosting a Lunch and Learn here on campus to discuss the new Student Conduct Policy and some of the implications for VWCC Faculty and Staff. This will be held in the classroom on the ground floor of the library (B-10). During this session we will do a quick overview of the policy and have some small group discussions and case studies to dig in a bit further.

To RSVP for this lunch and learn, please email Austin Pryor (apryor@virginiawestern.edu). Lunch will be provided for the first 20 participants to RSVP.

As there are questions about our Policy on Student Conduct or if you want to discuss any particular student conduct issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Austin Pryor (apryor@virginiawestern.edu).
