Faculty, one of the most significant things you can do for your students is to provide a reference for a scholarship application when asked. If you get an email from a student asking you to provide a reference, we hope you will do so with gusto!

In addition to the email written by the applicant explaining their request, you’ll receive an automatic email from the system. The automatic email contains the link to your reference provider dashboard, where you can complete the request. Click the link in the body of the email to access the dashboard. Click the Edit button beside the name of each applicant on your Dashboard.

Applicants must have two out of their three references submitted for them by the scholarship application deadline. The Educational Foundation Spring 2024 Scholarship application is open until Oct. 31, 2023! Direct your students to go to virginiawestern.edu/scholarships for application information and support.

Lastly, if you have time in your class schedule, may I visit your classroom for a quick 5 or 10 minutes to share with your students how to apply for scholarships?
