Distracted Driving Event

Know someone who texts or is distracted while driving? Join Roanoke City, Salem and Virginia Western Police Departments for a DISTRACTED DRIVING EVENT.

Wednesday, April 8th 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in parking lot 9 (behind the Bus Stop)

Activities will include the Driving Simulator and the Texting Golf Cart.

Join us at the Fitness Center for Free classes every week!

Hip Hop Cardio: Mondays 8:30am-9:30am Dance to the beat and burn calories.

Hard Core: Mondays 9:30am - 10:00am An intense 30 min workout for the power house.

Mindful Meditation: Mondays 12:00pm-1:00pm Stop breathe observe and connect with your inner experience.

Step it Up: Tuesdays 11:30am - 12:30pm Get your heart pumping! This class utilizes a raised surface, choreography.

Yoga: Tuesdays 12:30pm-1:30pm ,Wednesdays 11:00am-11:50am and  5:30pm-6:30pm Intermediate stretch and flow class. Internal focus for energizing and calming.

Sculpting Blast: Tuesdays 5:30pm-6:30pm and Thursdays 8:30am - 9:30am A weight-based class targeting specific muscles. Uses medicine balls, weights, and bands.

Buns, Guns, and Guts: Wednesdays 12:30pm-1:30pm Focuses on booty, arms, and abs. Uses hand weights and mild cardio.

Salsa Dancing: Thursdays 2:30pm-3:30pm Learn the steps while giving your body workout and have fun. No partner needed

Pilates: Thursdays 5:30pm-6:30pm Lengthen and strengthen your entire body using core muscles and incorporating strength training.

Zumba Fitness: Fridays 12:30pm-1:30pm Dance-based fitness that use a fusion of Latin and International rhythms with easy-to-follow moves.

  • Student Activities Tech Angry Snails 70 vs. Cashier Univ. Big Green 75

SA Tech led 70-69 with 1:00 minutes remaining, but Cashier knocked two clutch 3-pointers to gain lead and hold off the Angry Snails.

  • Admissions A&T Aggies 76 vs. College of Wilmer Wildcats 80

Admissions A&T tied the game at 76 with :22 left, but a Wildcats baskets with 6 seconds left plus an Aggies turnover inbounding the ball sealed the game.

Fralin Region

  • Bookstore Tech Mountaineers 67 vs. IET State Rams 64

Freshman Guard Price E. Sweter knocked a 3-point buzzer beater to move the Mountaineers to the Fralin Final.

  • Univ. of HR Miners 74 vs. College of BTT Runnin' Interns 83

The Runnin' Interns outrebounded the UHR Miners 45-32 during the game, with BTT's Morris and Scott combining for 27 boards and 40 points.

Humanities Region

  • Motorcycle Univ. Warriors 79 vs. UCP-Harris Blue Demons 78 OT

Controversy at McNeil Arena as a late technical foul on UCP-Harris' Head Coach for arguing a 3-seconds call cost the Blue Demons the lead, then the game in OT.

  • College of Craig Knights 82 vs. Art Univ. Purple Martins 72

The Purple Martins could not stop the hot shooting of Knights who went 58% from the field and shot 85% at the free throw line.

Anderson Region

  • Help Desk State Engineers 70 vs. Four Seasons Univ. Storm 72

A major collapse as the Engineers blew a 18-point at halftime, allowing the Storm to surge back, lead the game 68-64 with 1:09 left, and seal the with free throws.

  • Alliance State Cougars 76 vs. UM-Fightmaster Bulldogs 71

Back and forth game with the two major rivals from the Southwest Colonial Athletic Conference that saw 12 lead changes ending with the Cougars on top.
