Thank you

On behalf of my family, I would like to say "thank you" to Dr. Sandel, the college administration, staff and my faculty colleagues for their support during this difficult time as my family mourns the loss of my father.

My heart is full of gratitude for the beautiful peace lily plant, the e-mails, and the cards that have been sent. I am very touched by my VWCC family's kindness, generosity, and concern.

Tips to Reduce Email Size

Avoid using stationary in Outlook, as it normally requires more space, especially if there are background colors and graphic images included.  Also, if someone is viewing your email outside of Outlook it may be formatted vastly different than how you intended.

 Avoid using long signatures.  Usually your name and contact information will be sufficient for most correspondence from Virginia Western.  Having a compact signature makes it easier to read messages too.

Keep in mind that every message you send gets copied to your “Sent” folder, so stationary and signatures end up taking a lot of space over time if you include them on all your emails.

Be sure and check your “Sent” and “Deleted” folders every month or so in order to delete any unwanted emails.  If you have any voicemail to email messages, they take up the most room and deleting them  from your “Deleted” folder regularly will free up a lot of space.

All students must bring a Government Issued Photo ID (i.e., Driver's License) AND a copy of their current class schedule.

Faculty and staff need to bring their ID Request form filled out and signed by their supervisor.

Appointments can be arranged May 26-June 23, June 27 and June 30 with Nick Owens (nowens@virginiawestern.edu) or Natasha Lee (nlee@virginiawestern.edu)

No IDs will be made after June 30 due to office moving to the new Student Life Center.

Depression: Men are less likely than women to seek help for depression and are 4x as likely to commit suicide. If you feel "down and out", "hopeless", or "sad" for an extended period of time, you may be suffering from depression. Help can take the form of medication, counseling or a combination of both.

Important Reminder for Employees with a Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

If you are enrolled in a FSA (medical or dependent care) for the July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2014 plan year, you must spend all of the money you have set aside by June 30, 2014 or lose it.

Reimbursement requests may be made through September 30, 2014*; however, the expenditure must have occurred during the 2013-2014 plan year.

Have a dessert that is your specialty? Bring your favorite dessert for our Dessert Contest! No need to sign up in advance, just bring it to the room before 11:30 a.m. Cold items can be kept in the refrigerator in room HP204 (Catering Kitchen).
