Dean of Business, Technology and Trades

I am excited to announce that Debbie Yancey has accepted the position of Dean of Business, Technology, and Trades (BTT). Debbie holds a Masters in Business Administration from Averett University. She has served as Interim Dean of BTT for two years. Prior to serving as Interim Dean, she served as the program head of the Interior Design, Horticulture, and Paralegal programs and has been a full-time faculty member teaching business, finance, and accounting since 2005. She has been involved with the ACBSP accreditation process and worked extensively with dual enrollment. Debbie has both a broad and an in-depth understanding of each of the programs in BTT.

There were several very qualified applicants for this position. In the end, Debbie’s experience, understanding of the programs in BTT, and ability to articulate her leadership ideas distinguished her among this group.

Please welcome Debbie to her new position!

A Note of Thanks from the Vice President of ASA

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of those that contributed to our graduation ceremony this year. Mary Loritsch did a wonderful job coordinating this event. The Commencement Committee, Student Services staff, and many other volunteers did a tremendous amount of work to make the whole ceremony flow smoothly. Thank you also to the deans and Jenifer Kurtz for your efforts to pronounce all of those names correctly. We had a fabulous event and the hard work all involved made it happen. Thank you!
