Many scholarships have additional requirements, so it is important to read each scholarship descriptions carefully when applying.
The Virginia Western Educational Foundation has over $140,000 in scholarship funds available for academic excellence or financial need to help you reach your educational goals. You don’t have to receive federal financial aid to qualify for financial need scholarships.
2014 Diploma Campaign
During the month of May, Kroger and Stop In Food Stores are partnering with Virginia Western Community College to support the Community College Access Program (CCAP) and make college possible for local high school graduates.
Stop by any local Kroger or Stop In Food Stores location and donate $1 or $5 when you check out. All proceeds directly benefit CCAP and help bolster the economic base of the Roanoke Valley.
For more information, see http://www.virginiawestern.edu/foundation/ccap/index.php
Local Colors is a vibrant festival celebrating the diverse range of cultures present in the Roanoke Valley. This year's featured country will be Syria, and the festival will last from 11-5 in Downtown Roanoke's Elmwood Park. Please visit http://localcolors.org/ for more information.
VWCC's own International Students Club will host a booth this year at Local Colors informing the community about the presence of their club here on campus as well as providing basic information about educational opportunities here at VWCC.
We would love to have members of our campus community join us or stop by and say hello. We will be right near the Franklin Road entrance to Elmwood Park, by Anthem. If you think you could help inform the community about VWCC services or would like to help in any way, please contact Annie Woodford at firstname.lastname@example.org.
