New Horizons – Registration Now Open

Registration for the 2014 New Horizons Conference has been opened. The website to register is http://www.cvent.com/events/2014-vccs-new-horizons-conference-participant-registration/event-summary-4d69b6a28adf45a3a390c20e2d132b4a.aspx. The dates for this year’s conference are April 9-11, 2014 at the Hotel Roanoke.

The College will pay the early bird registration fee for any full-time faculty or staff member who asked for this on their professional development application. The early bird rate is available through February 19, 2014. On the registration form, use the name Fred Aaron as the college official authorizing payment and select “College Pay” in the payment window.

Scheduled WEPA Upgrades

On Friday, November 22, 2013 at 3:00 AM CST, WEPA will perform upgrades to our document conversion component and our kiosk application.  The document conversion component will be changed to prevent an extra page being added to some duplex print jobs that are submitted via our website and mobile apps, and this also includes changes to improve print speed.  The kiosk application changes are performance enhancements and there are no changes to user functions. During this upgrade web and mobile uploads as well as the kiosk application may be temporarily unavailable.

Bookstore Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day – TODAY!

The Bookstore will hold a Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day on November 21. Refreshments will be served from 11a-3p, there will be a raffle for prizes, and there will be a 25% discount all day for imprinted merchandise, gifts, general books, and supplies.

Stop the Hunger Concert

Following the success of the Save the Music Concert last semester, the Human Rights Club and the Audio-Visual Club will be hosting another charity concert for the Thanksgiving holiday. ALL proceeds will benefit Feeding America Southwest Virginia Donation $3; concessions will be available.

Performers include the spectacular local talents of The Off Brand, The Taubmen, Of Company, Sharayah, Gaffer Project, Sexy Summertime, Samuel Wilson, Maggie Oakes-Chitwood, and Keria Jennings!
