Interested in Transfering to VCU?

Admission representatives from Virginia Commonwealth University will be on campus on September 12th from 10am until 2pm In the lobby of the first floor of Business Science. Any students interested in transferring to VCU are encouraged to stop by to receive information about the process.  For additional information about transferring please contact Steven Chichester in Chapman Hall 105.

Women’s Volleyball at Hollins

Your Women's Volleyball team will play in a Scrimmage Jamboree at Hollins University, Wednesday starting at 6:00 PM.  The Blue Stars will face off against three 4-year institutions over the evening.  See you at the matches!

Your Men's Soccer team kicks off their regular season Wednesday against arch rival Patrick Henry CC at the Smith River Sports Complex in Axton, VA.  Match starts at 5:00 PM.  Come cheer your Blue Stars soccer team to victory!

Congrats to Psi Beta!

Virginia Western's Psi Beta/Psychology Club was recently acknowledged by the organization's national office as a 2013 winner of the Psi Beta Community Service Award. Our college's chapter was awarded for their volunteer work associated with the Roanoke Ronald McDonald House.

Our Psi Beta chapter was also received the 2012-13 Chapter Excellence Award for engaging students in activities related all four aspects of Psi Beta's mission: leadership, scholarship, community service and research.

Psi Beta is a National Honor Society in Psychology for 2-year colleges, and it is an affiliate of the American Psychologial Association. Virginia Western's chapter is sponsored by Lora Vasiliauskas.

Honors Organizations

As a Virginia Western student, you may receive invitations to join an Honors Organization. It is important to assess your invitation to ensure its credibility. The following links have information you can use to gain a basic understanding of certification of honor societies and the difference between certified and uncertified honor societies.



Virginia Western currently has on-campus chapters of the following organizations: Phi Theta Kappa, Psi Beta, Lambda Nu, and SALUTE. We also have an Honors Institute Office.
