Accounting Annual Scholarship for Adult Learners | Provides assistance for tuition, books and fees to a student enrolled in at least 9 credits per semester in an A.A.S. Accounting program of study. Applicants must possess a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Priority will be given to adult learners/students demonstrating merit and financial need. The scholarship is to be awarded and sustained for the full two-year (4 semesters) program of study, should the student continue to meet eligibility requirements. Funding will be divided amongst the required credit hours to complete the program, and is not to exceed expenses. Academic and personal goals, as well as strength of commitment to an accounting career shall be detailed in the section provided in the scholarship application. Dennis L. & Hazel Phillips Blalock Memorial Endowed Scholarship | Provides tuition, books, and expenses for one academic year. The recipient(s) of this scholarship may not receive total financial aid in excess of estimated annual living expenses. The need for financial assistance and academic achievement plays an important role in the selection process. Applicants must complete the standard financial aid application used at the college. Applicants who are enrolled at Virginia Western or who are transferring from another college or university, must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 and being making satisfactory progress in the pursuit of a degree in a curriculum. Current students must be enrolled in at least 6 semester hours and be in enrolled in a curriculum. Similarly, freshmen are expected to demonstrate a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5. Dr. George K. Bowers Youth Haven-Sanctuary Annual Scholarship | Provides assistance for tuition, books, fees and other related educational expenses to students who demonstrate financial need, and fall in the order listed: 1) Students who finished a prescribed program at Youth Haven or Sanctuary; 2) Students who attended Youth Haven or Sanctuary for a substantial time but did not complete the program; 3) Students who attended counseling sessions with the Roanoke Juvenile Services for a substantial time and are recommended by the Youth Care Administrator of the Roanoke Juvenile Justice Services Division; 4) Students who have been recommended by the courts of Roanoke City, Roanoke County and Salem and the Probation Departments of each locality; 5) Youth who are before the court on petition, or youth who are before Juvenile Intake on a complaint in the 23-A Court Service Unit (City of Roanoke) and the 23rd District Court Service Unit (City of Salem & Roanoke County); and, 6) Students who are enrolled in the Criminal Justice – Associate of Applied Science program at Virginia Western. | 2.00 | 6 credits | Any |

Construction Management Certificate Program Scholarship | Funds from the Scholarship shall provide assistance for tuition, books and fees to students who meet the following requirements: (a) enrolled in at least two credits per semester in the Construction Management Career Studies Certificate Program until completion of program, (b) maintain a cumulative 2.0 grade average, (c) have completed a High School degree or GED. No minimum GPA is required for new students to apply for the Scholarship. The Scholarship is automatically renewable each semester of enrollment if requirements are maintained. Scholarship recipients must purchase required course materials through the Virginia Western Campus Bookstore. Culinary Scholarship Fund | Fund provides support for tuition, books and other expenses to Virginia Western students enrolled in at least 9 credits per semester in the Culinary Arts Program. In supporting the VWCC Culinary Scholarship, financial aid will be provided to students pursuing associate degrees in Culinary Arts, as well as specialty certificates in Baking and Pastry. Preference will be given to students who agree to a rotation in a safety net facility. Delta Dental will provide a listing of safety net facilities in the Virginia Western service area and will facilitate introductions for scholarship recipients. Before applying, applicants must have successfully completed prerequisite coursework and been accepted into Virginia Western's dental hygiene program.
