{"id":4046,"date":"2020-12-15T17:27:48","date_gmt":"2020-12-15T22:27:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.virginiawestern.edu\/library\/?page_id=4046&#038;preview_id=4046"},"modified":"2025-11-14T09:29:45","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T14:29:45","slug":"student-testing-responsibilities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.virginiawestern.edu\/library\/testing-center\/student-testing-responsibilities\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Testing Responsibilities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Students who plan to take tests in the Testing Center should familiarize themselves with the following procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Student Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tests will be turned in when the Center closes. The Testing Center\u00a0<strong>will not<\/strong>\u00a0give out tests in the last half hour of testing to ensure that there is enough time for the student to complete the test in one sitting. However, ultimately, students are responsible for determining the amount of time required to take a test.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tests will not be given back to a student to work on a second time without permission from the instructor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students taking tests are responsible for knowing their course name and number, test number, and also the instructor&#8217;s name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students need to know their user name and password to access their MyVWCC account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students must provide a physical copy of their government-issued photo ID. A VWCC student ID card, a DMV-issued ID, or any other official photo ID will be accepted. Photos or scans of your ID will not be accepted.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students will need to bring their cellphone with them for multi-factor authentication when completing an assignment in Canvas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students will sign in and out of the Testing Center Sign In System.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students will be responsible for leaving book bags and notes in the designated area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students must turn off and put away all electronic devices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No children are allowed in the Testing Center area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Academic Integrity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When testing, students will abide by Virginia Western&#8217;s Student Conduct Policy; the policy is posted at each testing station.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>During testing, the Testing Center staff will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the testing environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If there is a suspected incident or testing inconsistency in violation of the Student Conduct Policy, the Testing Center will report the incident and give any supporting materials to the faculty member.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After the report has been made, the faculty member will be responsible for enforcing school policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Academic Dishonesty<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Virginia Western&#8217;s Student Conduct Policy states that students shall refrain from behaving in a dishonest manner. Dishonesty includes acts of cheating, stealing, and plagiarism. Violations of this policy could result in disciplinary action.
