Junior Explorer Program
The Junior Explorer Program is a three night program for 4th to 8th grade students. Lean about Rocks, Minerals and Fossils that scientists use to study the earth everyday!
Attend one OR all three classes:
1st Night: Rocks and Minerals
2nd Night: Fossils of the Earth
3rd Night: Adventure Night with Hands-on exploring & dig for Virginia Crystals!
Fall Dates: November 7, 14, 21; December 5, 12, 19
Spring Dates: January 9, 16, 23; February 6, 13, 20; March 6, 13, 20; April 3, 17, 24
(No class on April 10 due to Spring Break.)
Tuition cost: $30/student per night OR all 3 nights $85
6:00PM - 8:30PM each night
Location: Fralin Center, Room 344
The hands-on experience in this class is designed to encourage children to pursue a career path in the geo science field.

Family Night Out: Cooking Classes
Food For Thought is offering fun and engaging evening sessions for middle school students and their family which may leave parents in awe of their kids' cooking skills.
Through Virginia Western Community College's Kids College, Food For Thought is offering two, 3-course cooking sessions, where adults and children will work together to make an easy, healthy dinner and dine together. Kitchen techniques, shopping tips and healthy options will be reviewed. For students who are already enrolled in Green Living this will be an opportunity for them to share with parents some of the lessons they may have already learned. Each student registered may bring up to two additional family members to join them in meal preparation.
Classes held at the VWCC Natural Science Center
Cost is $60/session per middle school student registered (includes up to two additional family members)
