FAQs

How do I log into my student e-mail account?
  1. Go to MyVWCC (https://vw.my.vccs.edu)
  2. Enter your Username and Password.
  3. Click Sign In.
  4. Click the Gmail button.

When you first log on:

Please be aware that when you first log into your Google account there are some crucial steps that all students need to take to successfully access any Google Apps, including Gmail. These steps are easy to accomplish and will only be required once.

  • First, everyone must click through and agree to a new consumer Terms of Service (TOS) when you next login. No Google Apps can be accessed until users agree to these new TOS. To see these TOS, visit: http://www.email.vccs.edu/terms-of-service.
  • Second, when setting up a profile in Google Plus (G+), a Facebook-like social networking service included in the upgrade, it is especially important that you enter a correct date of birth (or at least a date of birth that will make you 13 years old or older). If you enter a date of birth indicating you are younger than 13, you will be permanently locked out of all Google services. This cannot be undone without significant effort and additional costs.
I do not know my e-mail password - how do I reset it?

Note: This changes all passwords for the MyVWCC system.

  1. Go to MyVWCC (https://vw.my.vccs.edu)
  2. Click the Forgot Password link.
  3. Follow the steps to reset your password.
My name has changed. Can my email name be updated?

Your email name can be updated to reflect name changes. We discourage this because a new email account will be created and all old emails will be lost. Contact the Help Desk at 540-857-7354 if you choose to begin this process.

Where do I get Google Apps help?

Google Apps has an extensive help site located at http://google.com/support/a/users/.

Does Google Apps offer discussion groups?

Google Apps does offer discussion groups. This service is offered online at http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail?hl=en.

I deleted an email out of my trash folder. Can I get it back?

If a deleted item is no longer in your Trash folder, it is gone. VWCC does not have any ability to restore deleted items.
