The Virginia Community College System email system is hosted by Google Apps, and everyone (students, faculty, and staff) with a MyVWCC username is assigned a Gmail account. The Google email system provides you with a very reliable and secure way to send and receive email. Emails are delivered through a web browser and email addresses will not change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faculty & Staff:<\/strong> This is not<\/strong> your official Virginia Western email address. If you do not want to check multiple email addresses, you should forward your Gmail to your Outlook email account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google Apps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In addition to Gmail, you also have access to other Google Apps. Check out the main features you have available to use below; be sure to click on the options to see video demos and Google Help Center information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google Calendar<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Multiple calendars are available for you to use, including a simple online calendar, shared calendars,  and subscriptions to public calendars. Mobile access is included. (Google Calendar Help Center<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google Docs, Sheets & Slides<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Create word processing documents, spreadsheets or presentations. Export them to your favorite desktop and mobile programs. Share them with your groups and make real-time changes together. (Google Docs, Sheets and Slides Help Center<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google Drive<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Store and access files anywhere — on the Web, on your hard drive or on your mobile device. Share files easily with others. (Google Drive Help Center<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do I log in to my student email account?<\/h3>
\n

To log in to your student email account, log in to MyVWCC<\/a> and then click the Gmail tile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you first log on:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please be aware that when you first log into your Google account you must first click through and agree to a new consumer Terms of Service (TOS). No Google apps can be accessed until users agree to these new TOS. To see the TOS, visit https:\/\/www.email.vccs.edu\/terms-of-service<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I do not know my email password – how do I reset it?<\/h3>

How to change your MyVWCC password<\/a> (Note: This changes all passwords for the MyVWCC system.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

My name has changed. Can my email name be updated?<\/h3>
\n

Your email name can<\/strong> be updated to reflect name changes, however we discourage this because a new email account will be created and all old emails will be lost. Contact the Help Desk at 540-857-7354 if you choose to begin this process.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I deleted an email from my Trash folder. Can I get it back?<\/h3>
