It is also your entry point for tools such as Canvas and your Student Email. Students receive their MyVWCC username upon completing an application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.virginiawestern.edu\/online\/about-canvas\/\">Canvas for Students<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/iet-services\/myvwcc-help\/\">MyVWCC Help<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/iet-services\/services\/accounts-access\/google-apps\/\">Student (VCCS) Email &amp; Google Apps<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vawizard.org\/\">Virginia Education Wizard<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Computer Access Expectations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students enrolled in online courses at Virginia Western are expected to have a laptop computer (or a desktop system with webcam and microphone) that meets&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.virginiawestern.edu\/online\/computer-access\/\">the minimum specifications listed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Loaner Laptops<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A limited number of loaner laptops are available to current VWCC students through Brown Library. These laptops are intended for students who have limited access to a computer when not on campus. For more information, visit the library&#8217;s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.virginiawestern.edu\/library\/research-checkout\/loaner-laptops\/\">Loaner Laptops page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Available Software<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Software such as Microsoft Office 365 and Respondus Lockdown Browser are available for students through the VCCS at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/resources.vccs.edu\/\">https:\/\/resources.vccs.edu\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">LastPass Password Manager<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Every student can get the benefit of online security with a complimentary subscription of LastPass premium, a simple, secure password manager.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/lastpass.com\/partnerpremium\/VirginiaWesternCommunityCollege\">Visit this page to claim your Premium LastPass subscription<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/support.lastpass.com\/help\/claiming-your-lastpass-premium-as-a-perk-account-lp010098\">Full instructions on how to get set up can be found here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Computer Labs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Brown Library&#8217;s Learning Commons, located on the first floor of the library, houses an open computer lab with PCs, Macs, and printers for student use. Computers have general software installed, including Microsoft Office, Zoom, Lockdown Browser, and special course programs like AutoDesk &amp; the Adobe Creative Suite. The computer lab is accessible for students whenever the library is open. Two printers and a flatbed scanner are located on the first floor of the library, in the Learning Commons. Library staff can show students how to print to the printers anytime the library is open.
