+ Student Life Center/Student Activities

Many of us were looking forward to fun social events this spring: sports games, festivals, trips, concerts, dinners, etc. We are all feeling sadness and loss over the cancellation of planned activities. It is completely normal to feel sad right now about the loss of our favorite social activities.

Some people have found joy in doing new activities at home or reconnecting with family members. However, this transition isn’t easy for everyone. If you are having trouble finding a way to connect or finding an activity you could enjoy, please reach out to Natasha Lee, Student Activities Coordinator at I will be happy to talk with you and help you with some ideas. Here are a few suggestions of things to do at home to keep yourself connected and well during a stressful time:

  • Go outside or exercise (check out our Fitness Center online services)
  • Watch a comedy on Netflix, play upbeat music
  • Take a shower or bath
  • Love on your pets
  • Text your friends and call your relatives
  • Crafting, journaling, drawing/doodles or other expressive and artistic activities

Healthy coping skills are really important during times like this. If you find you are having difficulty finding healthy coping skills, or are engaging in harmful behaviors, please contact Sheri Meixner, our Intervention Counselor, so she can talk with you.  Contact Sheri at or 857-6711.
