Treanor was inaugurated as Virginia Western Community College\u2019s fifth president in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/5i6ZQPDXg-s\">an investiture ceremony<\/a> at the Jefferson Center in Roanoke on Friday, September 25, at 10 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cVirginia Western is in very good hands,\u201d said Dr. Beth A. Quinn, Chair of the Local Advisory Board, who presided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Treanor has served as College president since July 1, 2025. In her inaugural address, Dr. Treanor shared a framework for the College to embrace innovation and offer opportunity for a student population with a wide range of backgrounds, ages, and unique challenges to overcome. \u201cEach of us is entrusted with something that can create possibility for someone else,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I have come to believe that leadership, at its very best, is the stewardship of that opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.virginiawestern.edu\/news\/2026\/09\/25\/dr-laura-j-treanor-pledges-to-create-possibility-as-virginia-westerns-fifth-president\/\">Read more and see photos from the ceremony.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Laura J.
