Virginia Western Community College continually seeks to put students at the center of the College’s mission and resources. A new role is charged with coordinating a wide array of resources into cohesively tailored ways to meet individual student needs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The College has welcomed Danielle Johnson as Director of Student Support Services. Johnson brought the skill set of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and community-based advocate when she began in the fall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout her\u00a015-year\u00a0career,\u00a0Johnson\u00a0has led mental health programming, crisis response\u00a0protocols\u00a0and\u00a0collaborative\u00a0initiatives\u00a0to address student needs.\u00a0Working in K-12 and\u00a0higher education\u00a0as well as\u00a0community-based systems, Johnson has\u00a0designed\u00a0and led\u00a0equity-centered, trauma-informed support models that strengthen student well-being\u00a0and\u00a0nurture\u00a0academic success.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
