Sign up now!  VWCC will sponsor service opportunities for MLK Day of Service on Friday, January 10. <\/strong> Since this is happening on Friday instead of the Monday school is closed, faculty and staff are encouraged to discuss participation with their supervisors prior to registering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Service opportunities to choose from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. The American Red Cross<\/em><\/strong> will hold a Blood Drive in HP 208-210.  Two-hour time slots are available from 9am-4pm to help run the drive; time slots to donate blood are also available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Feeding Southwest Virginia’s<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Salem Food Bank<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(Two shifts: 9am-12pm and\/or 1pm-4pm). Volunteers will be working in Quality Assurance (QA) to evaluate donated food products by inspecting and sorting packaged food products to control for such issues as shelf life (dates), dented cans, crushed boxes, or other superficially damaged food.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Food Drive for Virginia Western Student Food Co-Op, powered by Kroger.<\/em><\/strong> Please bring in food items (items of need can be found\u00a0here<\/a>) from\u00a0December 2nd, 2024 through January 10th, 2025<\/span>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>Drop off boxes can be found in each building. If you plan on providing a large donation please bring that donation to Fishburn 110 for storage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
