{"id":53443,"date":"2024-09-18T13:39:17","date_gmt":"2024-09-18T17:39:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.virginiawestern.edu\/bulletin\/?p=53443"},"modified":"2024-09-18T13:39:21","modified_gmt":"2024-09-18T17:39:21","slug":"2025-spring-employee-awards-nomination-period-ends-friday-october-4-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.virginiawestern.edu\/bulletin\/2024\/09\/18\/2025-spring-employee-awards-nomination-period-ends-friday-october-4-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"2025 Spring Employee Awards:\u00a0 Nomination Period Ends Friday, October 4, 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Over the past year, we all have demonstrated noteworthy contributions to the college&#8217;s mission, vision, and\/or core values by continuing to face and overcome significant challenges.&nbsp; All of you have truly made a difference &#8211; thank you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At this time, it is requested that you please take the opportunity to recognize your peers who have risen to world class excellence!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three (3) awards you can choose from to nominate an employee, each having their own set of recipient eligibility and award criteria.&nbsp; Employees may be nominated for more than one award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The steps to take to nominate an employee are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click the hyperlink to each award name listed below for a description of the award and respective criteria.&nbsp; This action will redirect you to the new VWConnect web site.&nbsp; If you are not logged in, you will be directed to login with your VWCC webmail credentials.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/virginiawestern.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/r\/sites\/HumanResources\/Shared%20Documents\/Rewards%20and%20Recognition%20Forms\/Award%20Criteria\/Classified%20Outstanding%20Achievement%20Award.docx?d=we265cc3deff54d5d829b88ead93b727b&amp;csf=1&amp;web=1&amp;e=jwntPw\"><strong>Classified Outstanding Achievement Award<\/strong><\/a><strong> &#8211; <\/strong>To be eligible to receive the award, the employee must be a full-time classified or a regular wage employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/virginiawestern.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/r\/sites\/HumanResources\/Shared%20Documents\/Rewards%20and%20Recognition%20Forms\/Award%20Criteria\/Classified%20Employee%20of%20the%20Year%20Award.docx?d=w49e226bff8cf4e3198d2538f6345d28c&amp;csf=1&amp;web=1&amp;e=Ay8Kr4\"><strong>Classified Employee of the Year Award<\/strong><\/a><strong> &#8211; <\/strong>To be eligible to receive the award, the employee must be a full-time classified employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/virginiawestern.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/r\/sites\/HumanResources\/Shared%20Documents\/Rewards%20and%20Recognition%20Forms\/Award%20Criteria\/STAR%20Award.docx?d=wc782a9a798464d1397457393cc76356a&amp;csf=1&amp;web=1&amp;e=Nbo77J\"><strong>STAR Award<\/strong><\/a><strong> &#8211; <\/strong>To be eligible to receive the award, the employee must be either a full-time classified employee, 12-month faculty employee, or a regular wage employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you wish to nominate an employee for an award, follow the instructions below.&nbsp; Ensure that your nomination and\/or supporting documentation includes criteria that is relevant to the award you selected. This is critical in evaluating and ranking the nominations received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Instructions to access nomination form:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on <strong><u>NOMINATE<\/u><\/strong> located at the bottom of each award description, and the form will appear for you on a new tab on your browser. Save the form to your PC by clicking <em>File -&gt; Save as -&gt; Download a Copy<\/em>.\u00a0 You can now edit the saved document for submission. If you have multiple nominations, you will have to rename them appropriately.\u00a0 OR,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact a member of your Human Resources office to have a form emailed to you.\u00a0 OR,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit VW Connect\/Human Resources\/Rewards and Recognition Forms and select Award Nomination Form under Annual Awards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Email<\/u> <\/strong>the nomination form and supporting documentation to <a href=\"mailto:DSchuh@VirginiaWestern.edu\">DSchuh@VirginiaWestern.edu<\/a> &nbsp;by 5 p.m. on <strong><u>Friday, October 4, 2024<\/u><\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those employees chosen as recipients will receive their award at the 2025 Employee Awards Ceremony.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please contact Denise Schuh in Human Resources with any questions and\/or if you are experiencing any difficulty accessing the description of the award and\/or nomination form at 540-857-7962.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past year, we all have demonstrated noteworthy contributions to the college&#8217;s mission, vision, and\/or core values by continuing to face and overcome significant challenges.&nbsp; All of you have truly made a difference &#8211; thank you!
