{"id":52905,"date":"2024-05-08T12:42:59","date_gmt":"2024-05-08T16:42:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.virginiawestern.edu\/bulletin\/?p=52905"},"modified":"2024-05-08T12:43:01","modified_gmt":"2024-05-08T16:43:01","slug":"benefits-open-enrollment-for-full-time-employees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.virginiawestern.edu\/bulletin\/2024\/05\/08\/benefits-open-enrollment-for-full-time-employees\/","title":{"rendered":"Benefits Open Enrollment for Full Time Employees"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Open Enrollment for full-time employees is from <strong>May 1 through May 15, 2024<\/strong>.&nbsp; No action is required during Open Enrollment if you have <strong><u>no<\/u><\/strong> health plan related changes, <strong><u>are not<\/u><\/strong> enrolling in a flexible spending account, or <strong><u>do not<\/u><\/strong> plan to participate in premium rewards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the process and determine whether or not you will need to take any action during the Open Enrollment window. Remember&#8230; this window is established by the Commonwealth and submissions either <strong>before <u>or<\/u> after<\/strong> these dates will not be accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhrm.virginia.gov\/docs\/default-source\/benefitsdocuments\/ohb\/open-enrollment-2024\/spotlight-2024.pdf\"><em>Spotlight on Your Benefits<\/em><\/a> contains additional information about upcoming modifications and guidelines for determining whether action is needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two of the most missed opportunities during Open Enrollment are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Not taking action to participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for the upcoming year<\/strong>. If you are currently participating and want to participate next plan year, you must <strong><u>re-enroll<\/u><\/strong> during Open Enrollment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The medical FSA has increased to $3,200 for the 2024-2025 plan year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employees continuing to participate in the new plan year will not receive a new FSA Inspira card.\u00a0 New cards will be provided when your current FSA PayFlex card reaches the expiration date.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Not completing your <em>online health assessment<\/em> <u>during<\/u> the Open Enrollment window to begin or continue to receive premium rewards for the upcoming plan year.<\/strong> These assessments must be completed <strong><u>within <\/u><\/strong>the Open Enrollment window in order for the premium rewards to be in place when the new plan year begins on July 1, 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you are making a provider change during Open Enrollment, ensure you complete the online health assessment with your <strong><u>current provider<\/u><\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep and maintain a screen print of your successful completion of the online health assessment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cardinal:<\/strong>&nbsp; It is strongly advised you complete your enrollment online in Cardinal.
