Virginia Western announces Chanlee Luu as the college winner of the Virginia Community College System “I Belong” Poet Laureate Competition.<\/strong>

Chanlee will represent Virginia Western at the state-wide competition on April 6 in Charlottesville, Virginia.\u00a0 This event is open to the public, and you can register for free tickets here.<\/a>\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chanlee will also be reading at the Virginia Western commencement ceremony.

We are also excited to announce the additional prize winners of the poetry and visual art contest:
Poetry second place – Jennifer Sheppard
Poetry third place – Emma Turner

Virginia Western Visual Luminary for 2024 – Samuel Evans
Art second place – Amelia Smith
Art third place – Austin Dovel

Poetry Open Mic: all students (and employees) are invited to share poetry on Tuesday, April 16 at Noon in the Student Life Center coffee shop.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
