I am excited to announce that we have two new academic deans, Carole Graham and John Anderson.
Carole Graham will serve as the Dean of Health Professions, effective immediately. Carole is well qualified for this position. She has significant experience in the health professions with her specialization being in Radiation Oncology. In her role as program head of ROC, she has worked extensively with accreditation as it relates to the health professions and with clinicals. She has numerous contacts within health care in the Roanoke Valley and will be a wonderful advocate for our programs. Once the move to the new building is completed, Carole’s office will be in the Center for Science and Health Professions.
Dr. John Anderson will serve as Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) beginning July 1st. John comes to us from Georgia Perimeter College where he has served as the Department Chairman for Sciences for more than ten years. As Department Chair, he performed many of the roles of a dean for a department that is similar in size to our academic school. In addition to his doctorate in Geology, he has a recent master’s degree in Geography and experience with GIS. John’s office will be located in the current academic school office in Anderson.
Please help me congratulate Carole and welcome John.
