Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coaches needed

The Athletic Department is looking for Volunteer Assistant Women's Volleyball Coaches for the 2013 season.  Season will occur from August to October with 3 days of practice per week and only 12 game dates.  Great way to start or continue coaching career, and stay in shape.  Full or limited assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Governor’s flag order for the Commonwealth of Virginia

Pursuant to President Barack Obama’s Presidential Proclamation to lower the United States flag honoring the victims of the tragedy in Boston, Massachusetts, I do hereby order that the flags of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Virginia are to be flown at half-staff on all local, state, and federal buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
I hereby order that the flags shall be lowered immediately and remain at half-staff until sunset on April 20, 2013, provided that the flags are properly illuminated during the hours of darkness. Where no appropriate night illumination exists, the flags shall remain at half-staff only from sunrise to sunset each day through Saturday, April 20, 2013.

If we don’t have the item you need, we can request it for you from another library that owns it.

Our Interlibrary Loan service allows you to obtain books, articles, and other materials that are not available in Brown Library.  Student requests are honored for materials needed to fulfill the reading and research requirements of the College’s course offerings.  Faculty and staff requests are honored for materials used for work-related inquiry or to support the mission of the college.

National Library Week Events:

  • Reading Flash Mob: Bring a book, comics, magazines, graphic novel and READ. Front steps of library, 11:15am on the dot, Friday, April 19th.
  • Word of the Week: Stop by the library to find out our mystery word. Create your own fun definition and enter to win a B&N gift card! (One student winner, one faculty/staff winner.)

  • Library Survey: Turn in a completed survey and enter for a chance to win $25!

Walk To End Alzheimer’s

The Central and Western Virginia Chapter is hosting a walk in Roanoke on September 28, 2013 at Elmwood Park.

If anyone is interested in becoming a team captain please pick up information in the Volunteer Center, Thomas Center room 210.
