  • ROANOKE VALLEY WOMEN'S SOCCER LEAGUE - Need women 18 + years old, especially over 35, to join the new recreational division this spring. Desperately seeking "play for fun" women. The cost is $50 for 10+ games. The games are Sundays in the afternoon at Botetourt Sports Complex (usually) from March 24 to June 2.No experience necessary -- we will fumble the ball together. This sport is a bun burner; we play 80-minute games with breaks at 20 minutes. The club (recreational) division has 2 teams and each team needs more players. We get to choose a team color and name so come be soccer divas with me! I'm 62 years old and really want women somewhat close to my age with which to play. Paraphrasing skillfully is important in writing research papers. This workshop will provide hands-on activities in paraphrasing.

PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR STUDENTS TO ATTEND THESE VERY USEFUL HOT TOPIC SESSIONS. If you would like to offer extra credit to students, they will be given an “extra credit ticket” as verification of their attendance to bring back to class.

CCAP Application DEADLINE

The 2013-14 CCAP application deadline is today, Friday, March 29.

To centralize services for CCAP applicants, the Educational Foundation is setting up CCAP Command Central Station in Fishburn, 02 (HR Training Room) today from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

If any student is looking for where to bring CCAP documents or ask a question about CCAP applications--whether it regards advising, financial aid or the application itself--please refer them to Fishburn, 02. Representatives from all departments will be available in CCAP Command Central Station throughout the week to answer questions and collect documents, etc.

The VWCC Campus Safety and Security Committee met recently and wanted to make you aware of a mobile app if you happen to use a smartphone! The mobile app is called the “Ready Virginia” mobile app and is being provided by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management! VCCS and Bluefield College Nursing Guaranteed Admission Agreement

Please join us in F115 on April 2nd at 10:30 a.m. as Dr. Glenn DuBois and Dr. David Olive will sign a Guaranteed Admission Agreement to make the transition from RN to BSN a seamless pathway between Virginia’s community colleges and Bluefield College. Drs. DuBois and Olive will highlight the importance of health education to the region and the state, as well as the cost-savings benefits that will be available to VCCS students through the agreement.
