Introduction to Dental Hygiene - Career Studies Certificate

Did you know that Dental Hygiene at Virginia Western Community College prepares you to work in a number of settings such as private practice, hospitals, universities, and community clinics? Other career opportunities include public health, research, and teaching. Begin your journey today to a career that offers a good income, flexibility, and fulfillment.

This curriculum is designed to academically prepare students to apply for the restricted admissions AAS Dental Hygiene program and to gain a job ready skill in health professions. Students will either prepare to take the National Registry of EMT certification exam or prepare to work in a medical office. Students should be aware that completion of this program does not guarantee admission into the AAS Dental Hygiene program.
