Pharmacy Technician Program

Description

Upon successful completion graduates will be eligible to apply for registration as a Pharmacy Technician in Virginia and be prepared to take the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam.

Requirements

Students must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.

Students must be computer literate and have access to a computer with Internet access, an email address, and printing capabilities. Students must take the Placement Tests at the Learning Center in Brown Library. While no specific limits are prescribed by this program, students are advised that the State and National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and many employers will have restrictions and limits.

  • Dates/Time: Monday and Thursday, 6:00 - 10:00 PM. 
  • Location: Fishburn Hall Workforce Development Training Room, Suite F01 on the Main Campus of Virginia Western Community College
  • Cost: $1,599 includes all books, materials and instructions for the class. This is a non-credit program are not eligible for Federal Pell grants or traditional State/local tuition assistance programs.
